Waterworks WAM Camlocks are frequently used successfully in a vast number of agricultural and industrial applications. Manufactured in high strength aluminium and polypropylene the WAM range provides a camlock for almost any application. General purpose aluminium and polypropylene camlocks are designed to suit hoses and Low Density Polyethylene pipes. The agricultural camlocks are designed to suit agricultural Medium Density pipelines such as irrigator drag hoses and effluent pipelines. All thread sizes are standard imperial BSP sizes.

For example: A 50mm camlock will have either a 50mm male or female camlock and either a 50mm/2” male or female thread or a hose tail to suit 51mm hose.
These camlocks will have a standard size male or female camlock to allow you to connect to any camlock. The only difference between the agricultural camlocks and the standard general purpose camlocks is in the hose tail. These hose tails are specially designed to fit 63mm, 75mm, 90mm and 110mm Medium Density Polyethylene Pipe.

When installing a hose tail into a PVC type hose we recommend putting the end of the hose into boiling water for 20-30 seconds or until the hose is reasonable soft. Put your hose clip or clamp onto the hose but away from the soft area. Apply some lube over the hose tail. This may be detergent or pipe lube. Then insert the hose tail into the end of the hose and push into the hose until the hose meets the shoulder at the end of the hose tail. Now slide your hose slip or clamp up onto the hose tail keeping it back 20-30mm from the shoulder. Tighten the clip or clamp up firmly being careful not to over tighten it.
If you are finding the camlock arms difficult to close you can apply some grease to the camlock arms inside the coupling. This will help to free the arms up. Also, keep in mind that camlock arms can sometimes be stiff initial but they can loosen over time.
When double clamping a hose tail we recommend that you clamp the second clamp 90° to the front clamp as this will give you two clamping points and a stronger join.
